Femern A/S implements Predict! product suite to build new 19 km fixed link across Fehmarnbelt between Germany and Denmark
Risk Decisions' flagship risk management solution Predict! is being deployed as the ISO 31000-based enterprise risk management tool for the planning, construction and operation of a new transport corridor between Germany and Denmark. The transport corridor, which will be either a bridge or a tunnel, will stretch the 19km (11 mile) wide Fehmarnbelt in the Baltic Sea between the Danish town of Rodby and Puttgarden in Germany. Work is due to start in 2013 and is scheduled for completion in 2018.
Femern A/S, the Danish Government-owned company created to build the link is implementing the complete Predict! software suite which includes Predict! Risk Controller and Predict! Analyser.
Per Åkesson, Project Manager Risk Management at Femern A/S, said: "We are pleased to be deploying Predict! as the risk management tool for this important and high profile project. Having evaluated all options available, we are confident the Predict! suite of products, supported by the risk management expertise offered by Risk Decisions provides us with the flexibility and functionality we require for a project of this scale. Predict! will provide real-time, detailed insights for all project team members and what they are doing to mitigate risks across all areas of the project, enabling management to respond rapidly to meet changing demands."
The Femern contract is a significant win for Risk Decisions, which sees construction as an important growth area. Val Jonas, CEO Risk Decisions, said: "We faced tough competition during the tender for this project and won on the basis of Predict!'s flexibility and our company's risk management credentials. This is a significant and high profile new partnership, building on our growing reputation and expertise in the construction sector."
